Established in 1949. The company manufactures and sells electronics materials, optoelectronics materials, electric insulation materials, industrial structural materials, etc.

History

2000
Established as a joint venture between ColorLink Inc. of the U.S. and Arisawa Mfg. Co., Ltd. (Capital 140,000 thousand yen).
- Acquired expertise in film lamination technology.
- Launched production of band selective waveplates (ColorSelect®).
2001

Constructed a dedicated plant within the premises of the Nakadahara-Nishi Plant of Arisawa Mfg. Co., Ltd.
2002

Increased the capital through stock allotment. Capital increased to 187,688 thousand yen.
2004
Started full-scale mass production of optical components for LCOS-type microdisplays.
- Established birefringence control technology for composite materials.
2006

Obtained ISO 14001 certification.
2007
Became an affiliated subsidiary of RealD with ColorLink's acquisition of RealD.
- Began production of assembly components with PBS.
- Started production of optical compensators for LCOS.
- Entered business of waveplates for optical pickups
2009
- Started development of components combined with liquid crystal elements.
- Began development of liquid crystalline polymer components using photo-alignment.
- Started mass production of 3D glasses for TVs.
- Achieved commercialization of "Snapewave", the wavelength selective switch.
- Started production of pixel shift device [PXF].
2012
- Obtainned ISO 9001 certification.
2013
- Started to study the business of pico projector modules of LCOS system using its own optical design.
- Installed mass production facilities for liquid crystalline polymer components.
- Started production of Film-type PBSs
2015
- Started mass production of pico projector modules [E5].
- Succeeded in getting its products adopted for VR headsets and pico projectors
2019
- Set focus on AR/VR business.
- Started mass production of lens units for VR with pancake optics.
- Started mass production of second-generation LCOS pico projector modules.
2020
Established Shin-Kawasaki Development Center.
- Began development of eyewear display monitors.
2023

Opened Tokyo Office.
Succeeded in providing the [Diffraction grating], a liquid crystalline polymer component fabricated via the photo-alignment technology, for the field of astronomical observation field.
